Top five is an objective

 

 

Christofer Berckhan Ramizez took 12^th place in overall classification, at the same time being 6^th among Juniors during the 5^th round of Scirocco R-Cup held in Austrian Red Bull Ring. Heading for Norisring in Germany , the Mexican driver wants to improve his results and be more effective during the 6^th round of the cup, which will take place on Saturday 30^thJune.

 

 

- For this race I have a regular routine as far as preparations are concerned. I go to the gym and follow various exercises everyday with my trainer and then I do some cardio, which is the most important thing in racing. Regarding the competition ahead, I want to be better than in Spielberg where luck and points were missing somewhere. I’ve heard that Norsiring is quite similar to Brands Hatch – there are few corners and most of them are fast ones. I believe that top five is a quite realistic plan. Of course a lot will depend on qualifying session. It is very important to gain some valuable points.  I will do my best to ensure that my sponsors, fans, and family will be satisfied with the results and hope to deliver a great show for everybody! – said Christofer.

 

 

The Norisring is a street circuit in Nuremberg . As the city's German name Nuremberg would lead to confusion with the already famous Nürburgring, the old name Noris was chosen for the simple track which is nowadays approx. 2300 meters long. Since 1947, motorracing events around the remaining 360 metres long grand stand are held on streets that are otherwise used for public traffic. Nowadays, the start-finish straight in front of the central grand stand leads to a right hand sweeper and the left-hand U-turn at Grundig tower, and back in a (now lefthand) sweeper to the Steintribüne, where the Schöller-S right-left chicane lead to the backstraight at its backside. Cars touch the outside wall often there. After a right-hand kink, the left-hand U-turn of Dutzendteichkehre leads back to the main straight after a flat-out lefthand kink. Due to the proximity of the lake Dutzendteich and the situation inside a large city, the track and event is compared to the Monaco Grand Prix.

 

In 2012 season as many as 21 drivers registered for the entire Volkswagen racing series.Christofer Berckhan Ramirez is one of 13 Juniors in the Scirocco R-Cup. Legends and guest starters join the grid for every race.

 

 

There are three categories within Scirocco R-Cup: Juniors, professionals and legends. In fact, there are actually three races within one Volkswagen Scirocco R-Cup race: Junior, Pro and Legends Cup. As a result, the budding young race drivers benefit directly from judging their abilities with the seasoned campaigners: in the past drivers from the Volkswagen one-make cup often made the jump into the DTM, World Touring Car Championship, GT racing or higher ranking one-make cups. Up to 30 competitors representing all three categories form the grid at each race.

 

 

The Volkswagen Scirocco R-Cup is very popular in television reports. In 2011 the number of 3.3 million spectators in Germany almost quadrupled to 13.9 million. An increasing number of fans used streaming, introduced in 2011, to follow the Scirocco R-Cup at home or on the iPhone while travelling.
